Since 1874: WENDT

Formation of WENDT:
A speciality shop for rubber products was founded by Hermann Wendt in Berlin. This was the beginning of the today's WENDT SIT GmbH & Co. KG.

1926   

New branch of business „Insulation Technology":
Hans Heinz Wendt, the grandson of the founder, creates the new branch of business of Insulation Technology. The speciality shop has grown up to a big enterprise.

1960   

WENDT establishes an own branch office in Ludwigshafen:
This establishment is known under the name "Isolier-Wendt".

1980   

Start of the Department „Sound Proofing":
We got the first orders from RWE Rheinbraun Mining Company in 1982. WENDT does a successful business in Open-Cast Mining up to today. This department became a well-known partner for sound enclosures in Power Generation and General Plant Construction.

1994   

The independent consulting engineers IBS join WENDT in Ludwigshafen:
The IBS Consulting Engineers for Sound and Vibration Technology Ltd. joins the office of "Isolier-Wendt". WENDT holds 60% shares of IBS.

1995   

Formation of the department „High Temperature Insulation":
WENDT now consists of three equal departments. In 1998 the name of the Company was changed to WENDT SIT (Sound Proofing Insulation Technology).

1996   

First orders of sound enclosures for gas turbines:
The sound enclosures for gas and steam turbines become one of the main products of WENDT. Since this time WENDT fulfils orders of international customers all over the world.

2001   

Moving to Frankenthal:
WENDT SIT moves to a larger workshop in Frankenthal (Palatinate). There was built a new production hall and office to provide more space to expand.
